Blake Sullens – Founding Partner, CEO

Blake Sullens is a founder and partner of Grayson Mill Energy and has served as Chief Operating Officer since its inception. Prior to forming Grayson Mill Energy, Mr. Sullens and played an integral role in technical evaluation and asset acquisition for Alta Resources, LLC after beginning his career at Hess Corporation. Mr. Sullens holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Eric Bayes – Founding Partner

Eric Bayes is a founder and partner of Grayson Mill Energy and has served as the Chief Executive Office for the last six years. Prior to starting Grayson Mill Energy, Mr. Bayes spent part of his early career with Hess Corporation and Oasis Petroleum in various reservoir and drilling completion senior management positions. Mr Bayes holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Matt Ultis – Founding Partner

Matt Ultis is a founder of Grayson Mill Energy and serves as its Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to forming Grayson Mill Energy, Matt held various positions in finance, business development, investor relations, treasury, risk mitigation and financial reporting for both public and private equity backed E&P companies.   Mr. Ultis holds a B.B.A. from Concordia University, Texas, a M.S. Finance from Texas A&M University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas.

Dewey Gerdom – Executive VP Land and Business Development

Dewey Gerdom serves as the Executive Vice President of Land and Business Development for Grayson Mill Energy. Dewey has over 35 years as a landman, business acquisition and divestiture professional in the Marcellus, Wattenberg, Piceance, Powder River and Bakken Basins in various senior management positions. Mr. Gerdom holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Wyoming.

Kennon Doyal – VP Production & Workover Drilling

Kennon Doyal serves as Vice President of Production and Workover Drilling for Grayson Mill Energy. Prior to his current position, Kennon served in various senior management positions in the Eagleford/Eaglebine, Piceance, and Williston Basins in addition to providing engineering services both onshore and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Doyal hold a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Jason Peterson – VP Drilling I Completion

Jason Peterson serves as Vice President of Drilling & Completions for Grayson Mill Energy. Prior to his current position, Jason served in various drilling and completion management positions in both public and privately backed E&P companies. Mr. Peterson holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Ken Smith – VP of Accounting

Ken Smith serves as Vice President of Accounting for Grayson Mill Energy. Prior to his current position, Ken served in various senior accounting management roles within the private oil and gas industry. He spent the first 11 years in public accounting both in the US and abroad prior to moving into E&P. Ken holds Bachelor of Business Administration and master’s in professional accounting degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.

Corey Scherrer – CIO

Corey Scherrer has been with Grayson Mill Energy since its inception in 2016 and currently holds the role of Chief Information Officer.  Prior to serving as CIO, Mr. Scherrer has held various Data Engineering and Business Intelligence positions at Grayson Mill.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Scherrer spent time in the Williston Basin subsurface groups at Oasis Petroleum (now Chord Energy) and Marathon Oil.  Mr. Scherrer holds a B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology and an M.S. in Biotechnology from Texas A&M University.

David Loveday – CTO

David most recently served as the Chief Technical Officer of Ridgemar Energy which operated and developed a large asset base in the Eagle Ford play of South Texas.  Previously he was Partner and Chief Technical Officer of Millennial Energy Partners which made upstream investments across the major onshore unconventional plays of North America. He began his career as a geologist with Chevron in the Gulf of Mexico before leading development and exploration initiatives in West Africa and Brazil. With over a decade of experience directing subsurface technical teams, Dave brings comprehensive expertise in basin analysis worldwide. He holds a B.S. in Geology from Ohio State University, an M.S. in Geophysics from Virginia Tech, and is pursuing an M.S. in Data Science and Machine Learning from Southern Methodist University.

Elijah Lavicky – CFO

Prior to joining Grayson Mill, Elijah served as Chief Financial Officer of Ridgemar Energy, a private equity-backed Eagle Ford producer that was successfully sold in January 2025. He began his career in Houston as an investment banker in the Jefferies energy group, advising upstream oil and gas companies on M&A and capital markets transactions. Elijah holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics.

Carson Carruthers – SVP Corporate Development

Prior to joining Grayson Mill, Carson was a Senior Vice President in the Energy Investment Banking group at Jefferies, where he advised on a broad range of upstream, midstream, and minerals transactions across global markets.  He began his career at Anadarko Petroleum, holding a variety of roles in operations, reservoir engineering, and business development.  Carson holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Robert Leidy – VP Reservoir Engineering

Robert most recently served as Vice President of Reservoir Engineering at Ridgemar Energy, where he was one of the company’s original team members.  In this role, he focused on technical evaluations, asset development, budgeting, and reserves through the successful divestiture of Ridgemar’s oil and gas assets in January 2025. He began his career at Concho Resources in Midland, Texas, as an asset team reservoir engineer. He was later promoted to Reservoir Engineering Supervisor, where he managed a team of engineers through multiple budgeting, reserves, and project planning cycles. His leadership contributed to the growth of an asset producing 70,000 net BOE/D shortly before his departure. Robert holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
